Hello Unscriptedites, (yes, I'm new and already making up words)
I am the feminine half of the dynamic duo you see in the picture; my husband and I are side walkers that have seen the light. We got blinded by it recently and are now in hot pursuit of the unscripted life. We listened to the Unscripted audiobook together and now I am listening for the second time with the focus of an Adderall laden college student!
Like so many others we have been the perfect M.O.D.E.L citizens loaded with debt and hopelessly strapped to our current jobs (which the only saving grace is that we both work remotely so there is no chance of inflicting physical harm on any co-workers).
Our current situation is not as dire as some, we do have considerable latitude with our time, both are able to fulfil our body-building hobbies, and have minimal interference from senior management but one decision could turn our daydream into a nightmare. Which brings me here to soak up insight, experiences, and mentorship like the proverbial sponge.
We are both in the fitness industry in upper management positions, we started out with pure intentions to save the world one body at a time! I traded 15-hour days training back-to-back clients for a five-figure salary, at first I thought I struck gold until I realized I had been reduced to the policy Gestapo and the corporate scape goat. He makes better money but still has his soul sucked dry every day by hair splitters and bean counters. We have had a head on collision with the glass ceiling in this company and need to transition ASAP!
We have a unique perspective on life, love, and well-being and our skill sets are very synergistic with one another. We have the kind of relationship you love to badmouth behind our backs (seriously it sickening sometimes) and it keeps getting better. We want to have a business that allows us the freedom to spend even more time together helping others achieve their version of the sexiest life they can have. There is no lack of ideas we would like to pursue, the challenge is in our lack of trustworthy sounding boards and voices of experience in our network (I’m not going to lie, I use the word network very loosely because ours is almost non-existent) to help foster these ideas.
My desired outcome from investing time in this forum is to make real connections with real (successful) people that are not afraid to tell us “hey that’s a pretty dumb a$$ idea because of X,Y, and Z” or “I think you are on to something with X have you considered y and z” and the advice be actionable. Thank you all that made it through this entire post, and I look ford to learning from you.
