so im interested in paying to have a custom type website made for my mother.
I have my own very basic wordpress blog that i setup myself but for my mom's site it needs some custom stuff that i have no idea how to do. I don't know php,html,css, all that boring crap...
Basically, i finally convinced my mother to do something more fastlanish with her life lol, she spends all day browsing different news sites, and russian livejournals, often focusing on the whole russian/ukrainian global situation(she's russian).
Since she can read both english and russian news reporting, this has given her a news perspective that most people don't have, she sees a lot of connections between different things, and she often tries to talk to me about all that stuff, to which i've always replied "START A BLOG OR SOMETHING!!!".
She also has a pretty unique idea for what this news site will look like.
The home page i guess is basically a bunch of puzzle pieces laid out on the screen.
Each puzzle piece is a self contained news article. You can drag the puzzle pieces around and combine them with matching pieces. Eventually you get a cluster of related puzzle pieces that were originally individual new articles that now form a bigger picture, and you can think about how the news articles are related to each other.
I don't know if its possible to do that with a wordpress plugin, its gonna need something that can be updated with an editor of some sort.
The idea is to have a basic simple system for it, so my mom can pick out some articles online, have a puzzle piece represent each of them, and make sure they can all be connected to each other. Those pieces will then be laid out on the web page to be combined by people visiting the site. The user can click on the puzzle piece to read the article it represents, or drag it to connect with another piece.
lol the annoying thing is that i can do something like that in my game engine that i use to make video games but not using html to create it within a website.
I was thinking of going with elance, but wanna check here first if anyone knows a better way to get this done.
