Affiliate marketing is not a fastlane business in that you do not control the product or service being offered. Someone else does and they pay you a commission for every lead/sale or action taken. I totally agree with this. That doesn't make it a bad thing though.

So how can you make it a fastlane business? You need to control things. That means making one adjustment to the way you do affiliate marketing. Typically you'll either send people directly to the merchants site and hope that the merchant can convert that person so you get paid, (totally out of your control).

You can also build a website, send people to your site, (more control), and then presell them a bit on which offer best suits that person. (promoting more then one offer in a niche gives you more control too). This way if one offer goes down, (as they do), you're safe.

Finally you can take the final step to gaining full control and turning affiliate marketing into a real fastlane business. You are now going to create an asset. That asset is a list of people who are interested in what you're offering. You can market to this list continually and even passively. Using a system such as aweber, you can pre-write all your email contacts to the list and even tell aweber WHEN to send the emails out. Each email, (called an autoresponder series), can contain products or services you recommend to people on the list. NOW you control it. You own the list and the list is very valuable as you can use it to sell quick things or higher ticket items. The beauty is this can be done in any niche and it works very very well.

So there you go, that's my way to turn affiliate marketing into a true fastlane business.
