Hi All - I read a lot of business books and "Making Ideas Happen" by Scott Belsky is a worthwhile read. In talking to many aspiring entrepreneurs, there are numerous common themes that come up - trying to figure out the next grand idea that will change the world and no clue how to execute or implement an idea.
First and foremost, quit trying to figure out the next idea that will change the world. There is a better chance you'll turn 80 before the idea comes to you. Instead, as most of us here know, find a need or pain point in society and solve it. Or, improve something that's is already out there.
When I was in my 20's I didn't have a clue how to execute and fully take action on an idea which is obviously what separates the winners and those who don't do anything but continue to complain.
Anyway, read Making Ideas Happen or check out the link below. It's good information. You need to start somewhere.
Make a list of actions steps (real ones) and where you want to be in 30 days, 60 days and 90 days. From there, accomplish a few of these action items each day and before you know it you'll be up and running. It's possible as many in the Fastlane can attest to - take real action today!
"If we were having this discussion one year from today (June 9, 2012), and you were looking back over the year what has to have happened for you to feel truly happy with your progress?"
