Many of us have an experience that fueled our fire over the years. For some, it might be a High school teacher who told you that you’d never amount to anything. For others, it might have been friends or family members who have never taken a risk in their life, but who are eager to tell you how crazy you are for embarking in one yourself. Although moments like these can be deflating if you let them get to you; when viewed correctly they can be like jet-fuel. 
For me, one such conversation in particular stands out like crazy, and ten years later….I still remember it like it was yesterday.
I grew up with a rather close-minded friend who was set to inherit a fair amount of money someday (and he relished the thought). Knowing how poor my family was, he was quick to snicker about my dreams of “making it somedayâ€, and told me over and over again how nuts I was. Back in High school, we were at a car show one weekend when a Lamborghini Diablo cruised into the lot. In absolute awe of finally seeing the car I had dreamed about for 15 years, I told him on the way home that day that I WOULD own one of those someday. I remember his laugh like it was yesterday, when he told me, “Haha you always crack me up man. I guess you’d better start playing the lottery more regularly huh? You in a Lamborghini! You’re NUTS LOLOLOLOLâ€.
We eventually drifted apart and even had a sort of falling out a few years back. However, being that he was “one†of my closer friends at the time, that conversation has always stayed with me.
Someday, I hope to send him a postcard. It will be a simple picture of me sitting inside that black bull I always wanted with a simple message scrawled on the back;
“Being Nuts never felt so goodâ€
