It’s good to be here….
I am based in England, and I founded my Data Migration Consultancy last year with a business partner in India. Briefly, here’s how I got to where I am.
I always knew that I couldn’t climb the corporate greasy pole. Soon after graduation I was freelancing and travelling the world off the back of implementing business systems for new mobile (cell) phone operators. I was doing quite well for myself.
I’ve continued freelancing throughout my working life always knowing that instead of just working for myself I needed to take the next step and build a passive income. I made some major mistakes that are well documented in the Millionaire Fastlane . I overreached on a mortgage and worst of all, I took financial advice from an advisor who had no place providing advice. When 2008 hit, I lost most of my wealth. The book was a difficult read for me in places!
Back to today and I couldn’t be more focused and motivated to make the new business succeed. I've seen similar businesses fail and predicted that they would fail, so I feel armed with the knowledge to make this business a success.
We now need to market our Data Migration services rather than just relying on the old network. Consider moving house. We are the removal company that you are happy to entrust with your prized possessions. Data is a valuable resource that needs to be handled with care.
I’m here to seek guidance about how to expand our business. We compete against the goliaths of the IT consultancy world and their huge offshore operations as our primary (current) market is Telecommunications. Our value skew is that we are true experts in what is a critical activity, and we do it better than anyone else, but everyone says that (the goliaths say that even though we find that they will deploy untrained fresh-faced IT graduates to do the job with the inevitable consequences)!
We wish to partner with software providers, but I feel we are missing that killer edge to make us stand out from crowd. We could be selling the pans for the AI gold rush since no data means no AI. I’m here to see if I can find this edge so any advice would be greatly received. What I have learnt over the years is that conversations are good and it just takes that one nugget of information to trigger a thought.
