I am going to be installing Internet monitoring software
WorkExaminer on work computers soon. I do have a question that I wanted to ask people on the forum beforehand because I would like to gage your reaction to this. The software I am considering has the option to either monitor what users are doing (logging and recording everything) or just outright blocking the information altogether.
My question is this – what do you think would have the most positive effect? I really would prefer to treat people like adults, and I feel that an outright ban of some of their favorite sites might be a harsh measure. At the same time, I know that distractions are piling up at work and perhaps an outright ban would show employees that we are actually serious about not being distracted while at working.
If this were your situation, what would you do? What do you think would be the smart move to make here? Thank you very much for your consideration.
