Who I am?
28 years old.
I live in Poland since October 2009.
I'm originally from France.
Who I was before reading MFT?
I was programmed for the following path: Get a diploma, Get a job. Negotiate your salary. Be satisfied with a 5-10% rise on a salary yearly basis.
This way of thinking was built from my education since I was born. From my parents, close family, and teachers.
In my family, no ones are in business. They all have a full time job with low or modest salary (from 10K euros to 35K euros per years)
Why I changed?
Deep inside, I always wanted to be financially free. When I was 18 years old, I was totally broke. I was living in a 9sq flat bedroom, working at McDonald and I was also a mason. Working hour: about 70 hours totally wasted.
One day, I was fed up with my situation. The pain was too heavy. I decided to quit everything, and changed country. I moved to Poland thanks to an NGO. When I came to Poland the first day, I didn’t speak English, neither Polish language.
It was in 2007. At this time, I remember that I didn’t have any penny. I even couldn’t afford to buy new shoes. After my first stay of 3 months, I came back to France with a better mind-set. I got a job as a seller man. My boss was a millionaire, and thanks to him, I learnt a lot. Way of doing business, stress management, problem solving. I realized that his business was working since 25 years because they were providing top solution about solar systems. I was next to him everyday during 2 years. When my contract was going to end, he told me that: “Your current job is not enough, I know that you want something bigger but I cannot give you what you are looking for.” I decided to end my contract and to move back to Poland. When I came back to Poland in 2009, I improved my language skills, got a job paid in a NGO and then study business management in the Public University. Then, I started to read more and more books about business. I set up a blog in French language about studies abroad and NGO projects. I was able to earn some extra cash thanks to sponsored articles and bit of affiliation programs….
And…
One day I found MFT…
It taught me a new way of thinking. Few weeks after ending the book, I’ve launched my first product, which was a big failure:
- A face-to-face training about how to set up a blog and earn revenue from it. It was supposed to be a group training with 15-20 students. Only 2 people enrolled. Anyway I understood my mistake: I focused on the local market, and especially my university.
After this failure, I’ve started a website about job offers in Poland in January 2013. The website was neither a success or a failure and it sill working today. Anyway in term of revenue, it is not what I expected and the market became crowded with more competitors with bigger resources (employees, marketing investment..etc.). For living, I got a full-time job in a corporate.
In February 2014, I’ve set up a second platform about rental properties. The idea was to help foreigners to find flat in Poland. This portal popped up because people were asking me after getting a job in Poland how to find a flat.
Simple business model: Multisided platform. Private owner and real estate agencies can create an account and pay a fee to publish their ads. Then foreigners can call directly and visit the property.
My first company was set up.
In May 2015, thanks to this platform, I discovered that the target audience was growing and the system was working. Thus, I set up with a Polish friend our own Real Estate Agency (My second company)
What kind of services we provide:
- We help foreigners coming for jobs or studies to find a flat in main Polish Cities
- We help also Polish people
- We help foreign investor to buy properties or offices in Poland. We take care of the selection of the asset, we provide credit (we have partnership with financial institution)
- We take care of the property that the investor bought.
We are paid based on commission:
- For rental services, we charge a fee to the tenant and the owner.
- For purchasing properties, we have contract with real estate promoter; financial institutions and investor pay us also a commission on the total value of the asset bought.
To sum up, I owned 2 companies today.
The 1st company owns both website.
The 2nd company is dealing only with real estate.
Meanwhile, I opened in January 2015, a drop shipping business in France. At the beginning, I found it quite exciting but nowadays, I don’t see any value in that.
My income did grow from the last 5 months especially from the real estate business.
Nowadays, I’m struggling with my mind-set. I tend to self-sabotage myself and to become my worst enemy. I know it may sounds weird, but on a daily basis, I really found it difficult to focus, and sometimes to wake up and attack the day. My monkey mind is making some tricks and I lost clarity. This negative behavior appears since I left my ex gf 2 years ago. What’s more, I lost few “closed friends” on the way, for different reasons, which makes me feel really lonely sometimes.
I developed also anxiety, stress and fear of the future like: What if my businesses failed, too many risk involved…etc. My internal values are fighting with my current way of living: get a new job, a structure, have a normal life…etc. I just want to be happy and have peace of mind but it seems not working that way. Even when I earn one-month salary from my previous job in a corporate in one day doing business, I feel joy for a few minutes but it disappeared. It is like I thought that money will make me feel better, but it doesn’t. I’m trying to understand this point but still have no clue. People around me have 9to5 jobs from Monday to Friday, but after 5 pm they don’t think about their job. In my case, I think about business almost all the time, like my brain is not getting a rest. Don’t get me wrong: I love business and possibility that can bring.
