Hi fastlaners,
I'd like to share to you my idea generating strategy that I use to make a profitable business. I don't really share this to other people (even my friends) but what the hell... I've learned shortcuts from this forum anyway. It's time to reciprocate.
I want you to use an affirmation on yourself every time you think generating an idea is difficult. Tell yourself this: "Creating Profitable Ideas is Easy"
Now for my secret sauce...
The real secret is to find PAIN POINTS in your daily routine. You have to identify what frustrates you in your business? personal life? relationships?
Then, what you do is think of the effects that may happen when this PAIN POINT isn't resolved. Use that to generate an idea for a profitable business.
Sounds confusing? I'll give you an example:
PAIN POINT (BUSINESS): I hate it when I talk to the phone and the customer service personnel is untrained to handle my inquiries.
EFFECT: Bad customer service leads to less repeat sales, and bad reputation
IDEA: Create a company or a membership website that trains customer service personnel. License that training to big corporations
PAIN POINT (RELATIONSHIP): This is a true story: I have no idea what gift I should give to my girlfriend on our anniversary, her birthday, Christmas. I'm out of ideas.
EFFECT: You girlfriend might think that you're taking her for granted because your gifts are always generic
IDEA: Create a service where you can create personalized gifts for girlfriends or boyfriends. The customer would simply give you his/her budget - $50, $100, $200, $500 and it's up to you to have your team create a memorable scrapbook, collage, video montage, couples shirt, etc...
PAIN POINT (HEALTH): I don't have time to cook and I don't want to eat fastfood or spend money on expensive restaurants. BUT I want to have a healthy diet.
EFFECT: I will go back to my old ways. I will become fat and unattractive. I will become lazy to work because I lack the proper nutrition to fuel what I do.
IDEA: Offer ready-made meals and deliver it to their house. Charge them weekly, monthly, quarterly. It's cheaper than eating at a restaurant, less time consuming than if you cook them yourself, and healthier than cheap fastfood.
Many many ideas can be created from this.
This is the same strategy I use that helped me generate 30 ideas in just 1 night (that's just in 1 night)
