I just checked in to see how my old boss was doing these days as i quit my job years ago due to wanting to go out on my own to start an e-commerce business and work for myself.
The pay was low and since the company was just starting out i had to work alongside the boss day in and day out for next to nothing.
Not a bad thing really in hindsite as i learnt a lot about the workings of a startup business including how to deal with sales staff, customers, advertising, payroll etc
Quite amazing to see what he has done in the past 10 years.
He bought a small machine from the US and now has built many factories and shops to deliver his products all around Australia.
He has a niche product which allows him to expand into many other countries.
My dad was also a partner in this company but bailed out as he did not want to invest the $15 million to expand so my old boss raised funding from going public.
Hmmmm. i wonder if i should compete?
