Hi everyone,
I just finished MJ's book yesterday, it was great...and now I am really setting plans.
I have been thinking about this for over a year now...should I go back to college? More specifically, what should I major in?
My mom has been employed by a local private university for over a decade so my brothers and I get great discounts on all the expenses for the college she works at and a list of other 'sister colleges'. I want to stay in state so some of them on the list that I like are:
Here are my biggest issues off the top of my head:
I am marketing for other people's businesses right now, which I can continue to do in college to gain more experience and skills that I can apply later on. I also believe that the businesses I chose will continue to pay for the long term passively. I don't have my own business yet though.
I'm 19 years old, but almost 20. If I go back to college I will make sure I actually learn practical/applicable things in class, build great relationships with my professors/peers, continue to learn more on the side, join a fraternity for fun and to get to meet guys that I get to really know and potentially do business with, meet and play with many beautiful ladies plus work on my game hahaha . The latter isn't my focus, but I'm sure most of us are guys here and you know what I'm talking about.
PS: I read a few posts yesterday. One of them was about not needing to learn how to code, rather to focus on learning marketing/copy (I'm doing that right now). On that post someone else mentioned that the guys who started some major companies we know today coded themselves. Could not personally knowing how to code be a huge barrier?
PPS: In MJ's book, something he mentioned was that one of the Fastlanes was innovation or creating something. My thought before reading the book was to go back to college for engineering so that I can learn how to create a product myself to then build a business around. That was my primary reason I kept thinking about going back to college...getting into a STEM major to learn how create something.

- USC (University of Southern California) - My Top Pick
- UOP (University of the Pacific)
- USD (University of San Diego)
- USF (Univeristy of San Francisco)
- Pepperdine University
Here are my biggest issues off the top of my head:
- What should I major in? Should I double major or get a minor? (To Apply To Business)
- Go for Bachelors or Masters? (I never considered Masters really until now, just want to know your thoughts, not really interested in going that far though).
- Should I focus my time & effort on self-education & hustle to 'make it' in the Fastlane with out the perks college provides?
