ok, so its the company I work for.... but I like catchy titles. Bet it made you click so far
So who here works in the corporate world and has learned real life lessons from your slowlane job? Instead of complaining at being at the bottom of the corporate latter, I decided to see what they do right/wrong.
The good: Our sales department follows a standardized pitch that you have to touch every point on it during every sales call. All the sales and marketing principles I learned in the books I've been reading in the last few months really have those principles built into the sales pitch.
The bad: Relying on third party vendors. I can't go into specifics, but we recently had a promotion where we relied on a third party vendor to honor promotion rewards. They dropped the ball, and we got a lot of complaints about that. It is amazing how one dissatisfied customer can spread the word about this.
I'd be interested in hearing what others have learned from slowlane jobs that they applied to their business?
Interesting fact: I just realized that the company is worth over $1.6 billion and has less Facebook fans than MJ does.
