Hey guys,
I have been waiting a long time with posting just thinking about this one.
I just start with the basic niche and model i had in mind, and then start explaining the problems i have with them. I apologize if anything is unclear or chaotic.
Main goal: "To have paid of my current debt of 42.000$,and make a income of 150.000$ a year,(after taxes) living my life the way i want to".
-Model of my niche.
Basically,i wanted to educate other people by learning them foreign languages in a fun and creative way, focusing mainly on the speaking part.
I am fluent in 4 languages, and want to share my knowledge with the world, cause i think i bring it in a fun and creative way by 1 on 1 lessons on Skype, including E-books.
The reason i thought this would work is because people are interested in learning foreign languages, and online lessons increase the flexibility of time schedules.
I charge fifteen euro,s for a lesson, and nineteenhundred euro for a year course, featuring E-books,3 times per week skype lessons, and homework and support by mail.
Financial problems:
With the current time i have, i can spend a maximum 30 hours per week.
52x30= 1560 hours to spend.
I am rooting for the year courses.1 year course uses 3 hours per week of my time.
This way i can make a maximum per year of 10 courses, bringing me at 19k per year, excluding taxes. Im working quite hard then, and making too less. So im thinking the niche is right, but there is something wrong in the way im thinking/doing things.
second financial problem:
No aid. I have no startup funds,a crappy website, and no sponsors.
I am wondering if i should keep going for it like i am now, or save up so i have more of a buffer right away.
-Other problems.
People are being suspicious of spending large amounts of money online. And since not much people took my courses, i dont have much feedback to prove i am trustworthy either.
Second, people tell me they are interested and that i am doing a great job.Still, they will not take the course. Some even say they want to study a language, but have excuses like a preference for a group class, or i am waiting for the right time.
Things i tried:
E-marketing
Building a website
Flyers to people
Flyers trough doors
Approaching students
Free lesson samples
Changing subscription from yearly to monthly
Different approaches of selling
And,my favorite:donation options for free lessons for minority groups.
I would appreciate it ALOT if someone took the time to read this and spot my failures. also, any advice in any way is most welcome.
Greetings,
Henk.
