I have barely ever paid google to do advertising for me but i have recently found some stuff out. Someone posted a great article on how contextually targeted someone and using highly visible ads together do not work well due to privacy issues. They work great independently but at the end of the day the simple contextual ads work the best as far as purchasing and people giving out sensitive info.
Here is my idea. Run a google Adsense campaign, see which websites you were getting the most clicks from, cut out google, go directly to the website owners and rent a banner. Now make the banner appear to be a contextually targeted ad but its still actual just a click able picture banner..remember i need sensitive info, and visual ads in some industries make people feel uncomfortable as if they are being manipulated (this was proven in study).
