Hello everyone,
Sparlin pointed out the fact that I should introduce myself so I figured I would go ahead and do that.
I currently reside just north of Nashville Tennessee and Co-Own an I.T Consulting business. We opened roughly a year ago with no capital and honestly have not made a ton of progress. I had a lot snowball just after opening, meaning a lot of time consuming obligations outside the business. Now, I am ready to get this going- hence signing up for my turn in the Fastlane.
I'm currently giving the site a makeover and adding OTRS (a ticketing system), as well as just hired a commission based representative to pound the pavement in search of new contracts.
My current problem consists completely of my Partner. I of course had known the guy through high school, became roommates at college, etc and all was good (and still is in a trust/friendship sense). My issue is that I'm to the point of almost convinced that he is all talk. Granted, he is very knowledgeable, yet very inefficient - meaning he's SLOW. Also, I'm seeing no ambition besides tangible "goals", such as wanting a new car, etc which I feel is far from the winning mindset.
We currently only have one large client with a second in the works. As I mentioned previously, we have a guy starting next Wednesday as a full time Contract Sales Representative. I will of course be out doing the same thing as much as possible. My Partner- not so much.
By the way, this is currently ran out of the house, with a large room dedicated to this venture (large server closet plus a two workstations in main room plus test equipment, work benches, etc). My main goal is to get additional contracts and lease office space. I don't mean a large building, but an apartment like setup for businesses downtown would be excellent. Would also like to have some transportation for business only use, such as a Sprinter (server racks and other equipment that cannot get wet).
With all that said, I have been lurking here for quite some time- hell, a couple years even. Thanks to all of you for making this an excellent community! If nothing else, it's good for a quick pick-me-up when you start to drift into the Slowlane.
Might have been more information than required for an introduction, but thank you for reading. I look forward to exchanging information with everyone and wish you all the best!
