Hello,
My name is Mike, I'm a 27 yo graduate student and I currently live in Glendale AZ. I go to Physician Assistant school, which is a career field that allows me to help people and do something that I enjoy. I'm also a 2nd LT in the Army getting my schooling paid for. I was deployed in 2005 to Kuwait for 16 months. I graduate in August 27th 2010 and have no clue what I plan to do, of course work as a Physician Assistant just not sure in what specialty or city.
My business education started with reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, like I'm sure many have done. I thought the man was a genius and I worshiped Robert Kioysaki for all he did. As time went on I realized the more you read his books, the more he seems to repeat the same ideas and you have to spend more money to figure out his "true" secrets. I think the secret to reading RD books is to realize they are all a method of getting you to spend the big money on the next step up. After I realized this, all my reading was treated with a grain a salt. I really have enjoyed this website so far and look forward to continue learning from it. Seems like there is more good info her than what I could find on RD paid forums.
I would like to mention that I did enjoy Ken McElroy's books and I feel that I could really get into Real Estate. I just purchased a house that I am living in for the time being and bought it at a price that will cashflow if I ever decide to move out. I'm always surprised by how many people purchase houses based on emotion and not valid numbers.
I also have a passion to do something other than real estate. My girlfriend and I have been thinking about building an indoor dog park in the Phoenix area. There is one in Dallas, TX that appears to be doing well and I would love to do something like that. Just have no clue how to even get the ball rolling. I also have interest in a Web business or forum, maybe something to do with dogs or medical or the military. I have a lot of knowledge, just need to figure out how to put it out there and make a profit. I always appreciate feedback and hope you can tolerate my questions.
Thanks for reading,
Mike
