Hello everyone, just wanted to open up my introduction with one of my favorite quotes!
Introduction
My name is Yasmani Castaneda, I am 21 years of age, and I was born in Havana, Cuba. I didn't experience the poverty life in Cuba since my family and I left to the United States when I was 3 in search for a better future. I was the only boy in my family and I was also the outsider. I always had a different perspective on things than the rest of my family. Growing up in the states allowed me to be the first one in my family to be fully immersed into the American culture. I did what most American kids do, play video games, go to school, play on the computer, rinse and repeat. I grew up thinking that my parents were always right and that me following their mentorship would allow me to achieve my childhood dream of becoming a millionaire. Though I had a different perspective on life than my parents I would just keep it to myself until I began feeding my greatest asset, which is, in my opinion the greatest asset a human can have, the mind(would say brain which is the more technical term but I like the word mind lol). I began feeding my mind with something that I never took an interest in, books. When I began to read books like Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Millionaire Fastlane my soul and body became synchronized. I was always that kid who didn't know what he wanted to do but when I read those books I knew what I wanted to do, become self employed and become a creator. I began to read more self development book and began to watch Gary Vaynerchuck and Patrick Bet-David on youtube and I was suprised on how their values were the same as mine. It was an amazing feeling, I felt that I finally found "my kind". I could keep on writing on what I feel for like 2 or 3 pages but I won't put you guys who are reading this through that haha.
The Road I chose
My family wanted me to go the slowlane route, go to college, get a good job, and work 9-5 the rest of my life making a good salary but I am a different kind of breed which I know most of you on this forum are as well. 2 weeks ago from the date of this post I decided to make the decision and drop out of college. I was getting in debt and I wasn't learning any practical knowledge. In fact I learned more on my own time about life than in my entire years of high school. and college. I am now a student of the fastlane. I try to conquer myself everyday whether it be knowing that I am doing something productive or learning computer programming. I read and learn something new everyday. I never realized how much I love to learn until I started reading books at the age of 20. I am always trying to absorb information whether its through audible when I am driving, reading on my downtime, or using my free time learning to code. I know the road I chose is going to be hard and full of twists and turns but I know I will get through it because where there is a will there's a way. 😀
