Hey guys hows it going, I want to pre apologize about this lengthy post but I would really appreciate some honest reply because I am running out of steam it feels like.
i'm a 28 year old male, I dropped out of school and had a full time job since I was 16. the past 8 years of my life i've been working a government job, earning decent pay with great benefits and 3 retirement plans and my bosses loved me and let me have tons of freedom, but ive always wanted more. so I did my side hustle and flipped cars, dirtbikes, motorcycles, atv's and lawn mowers. (over 50 combined) I made some decent money but I squandered it away on dumb stuff.
Last year I decided to do lawn care with a friend after I got off from my main job and , I bought a nice zero turn and other equipment. I made an easy 15k part time cutting grass. I didnt enjoy cutting grass but it put money in my pocket, So 4 months ago I found a pressure washing trailer setup that was worth about 7k and he needed money badly so I got it for 4.5k I done this part time aswell and made some OK money, I I've done about 2500$ worth of return on my investment so far with no advertising besides craigslist.
Well 2 months ago I did it, I have been talking about going out on my own for 2 years and dreaded going into work even though the job was actually a really good job (utility maintenance technician at surface and ground water plants) I quit... I was so happy to leave my motivation was high I was on top of the world, I got my business stuff in order and got a few more jobs, had a $2000 week and was pumped (this is more then I made a month at my other job)
Well now the work has slowed down because im not pushing sales as hard or advertising as much because I really just don't enjoy doing it. I ALWAYS do this with everything I own or ever do, I go in head first and buy the best equipment or top of the line items and then months later I just get bored and go onto something else.. Whats wrong with me how can I change this.
I can find work just to make ends meet but I just cant see myself doing it forever even though the money is decent, I have about 15k here I was using as "fall back money" and i'm searching for something else to try and do. I am going to start flipping vehicles again but I don't want to just be that guy that flips cars for a living off craigslist.
Should I just suck it up and push on and do something I dont enjoy just cause the money is good? I feel like I had a MILLION ideas last year how to make money but now im just running on fumes.
Any guidance or kick in the butt would be great. thank you guys for reading.
