Last week I decided to mark down a product about 40% and make it a good deal. Then I went to Slickdeals and created an account and posted about the deal on my store. The main problem was that slickdeals has mostly techy type visitors and my products are non-tech.
I chose a cheap product, about $6 because I figured the people on there would buy it on spur of the moment.
The results were 6 total sales and about 30 visitors. The post itself got about 300 views. They avg. over 2 minutes on the site and had 2.5 page views. I ran the deal for 2 days only because I was selling the product at $1 profit.
I thought the experiment was a success. Now I can plan a better deal next time.
