Hello there, friends !
I am a 21 year old broke student looking to start his own e-commerce.
Goal: Learn as much as possible about everything related to entrepreunariat, marketing, advertising, management, etc. Get good profit from this e-commerce in order to use for another, bigger, start up company in the future. My goal is to be a millionaire by the time I turn 27.
This is my official e-commerce thread. I will be updating it, telling people what works and what didn't, I will be asking for advices (LOTS) of advices and much more!
I've been reading a lot about marketing, advertising and the science behind it. I want to brand my product perfectly, I don't just want to beat my competitors, I want to create a new market, for my product (blue ocean). Here's more about my website and what I plan to do with it.
My e-commerce
I will be selling legal organic powder, that almost acts as alcohol (but in better). Pretty much every competitors sells it by it's street name. I want to do things differently, I don't want to sell "product", I want to sell "my brand". Therefore, I thought about only mentioning the botanical word in my description (once). After that, it's my brand all the way.
Also, I was wondering if I should bring a normal e-commerce vibe (probably not), because I will most likely try to bring out a "cult" vibe. I want my consumers to feel like a part of a community. I want them to feel loved, like they have problems and I can help them. I will need to play on the "likability" a lot (I guess).
So, along with my commerce, I was wondering if I should also add a blog, a "charity page", and a page full of testimonials. all in order to increase likability and credibility. What do you guys think? Anything else I should do? Or should I focus more on the "shop/buy" vibe...?
Also, what kind of business do e-commerce usually get (in CANADA). In my opinion, a company would be best because of the reduced liability, but registering it alone costs around 1k (I really can't afford that). So, what would be a possible cheap alternative?
Regards,
Mattster
