If you never heard about NaNoWriMo or the National Novel Writing Month, here‘s the website‘s description of it:
While researching and learning about writing a novel, I came across that weird sounding abrevation a lot. Like, really a lot.
But I pretty soon learned that it‘s an event in November.
And since naive me, back in February of this year, thought I‘ll be done with my book by late summer, I never gave it a second glance.
Well, here we are.
It‘s October and I‘m still hovering above the 150 pages mark of my planned 300 something novel.
So I decided to take part in the NaNoWriMo.
I have absolutely no idea how many authors, especially of fiction are on here. Anyway, I thought it may be of value for some to do this together on this forum.
I‘m not talking about „I just wrote 3,463 words today!“ or „There are 8 words starring at me from that blank F*ck, that‘s my word file.“ or „I have no idea where that Scrivener thing on my desktop went, guess I‘ll start tomorrow“ type of posts.
I mean, you can do that if you want.
But it could also just be an update every few days how it‘s going for you. Or one at the end of it.
That‘s completely up to you.
And yes, I know.
October just started and I’m talking about writing 50,000 words in November?
Yeah. There may be stuff to prepare.
Like, getting into your characters (not that type of thing you think now.... pervert), thinking about the research that needs to be done, doing the research. Outlining your novel. Finding that Scrivener thing on your desktop.
I don‘t know if anybody would be into this and would like to join. If yes, I‘d love to use this thread as some kind of group novel writing progress experiment thread (or GNWPET.... yeah.. better not use that..)
To follow each other‘s progress and holding oneself accountable through it.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing.
On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.
