Lately I've been doing a lot of research on the inter wide web and I wanted to make this thread both to:
1.) Point out some bullshit I find on the web
2.) Create an open discussion and further advise on stuff to watch out for
As I have been in this space doing business for some time, but not an extensive time I am still a little bit new to some of the marketing and garbage that people are trying to sell us on the web.
Lately I have been down about how much lies are out there.
People I once looked up to, now I see as frauds. People who I turned to for knowing the answers, they don't.
I have found the following in just researching other businesses and a new niche that I am looking at going in:
I have found tools such as similar web that gives me a view on how many people are actually getting to their site:
https://www.similarweb.com/
A friend who told me he is doing over 7 figures a year while traveling, again not sure of these exact numbers, told me that google key word planner fudges their numbers as well.
I have learned that when everything outside is facades and bullshit then the only place to go is within with your own truth.
Maybe it hardly matters what any of these other people are doing and we shouldn't focus on modeling as much as most people do. Maybe we need to try harder and fail more. Maybe we just need to learn more.
@devine is his post a few weeks ago about how a wealthy business man had a really good point about this.
How do you guys find ways to detect bullshit online yourself?

I have found the following in just researching other businesses and a new niche that I am looking at going in:
- People selling information that they know nothing about as called Envelope Stuffing Scam that MJ had told me about (creating a sales funnel to teach people about building a sales funnel)
- People who think they know business, but they don't really. I had this with a coach of mine, who has success in his own, but to advise someone of it he isn't good enough
- People saying that they are busy and don't have time to respond to emails. I found this to be largely untrue (I know this because I emailed over 100 podcasts - cold - the results were nothing of I'm too busy for your irrelevant request. Lewis Howes even responded personally.)
- People showing you success when they aren't in fact living it out
