Hey everyone! Feels GREAT to be back! I had an account here 10 years ago but unfortunately I can't access it anymore.. amazing what the community has grown into.
I'm currently running a fairly successful Facebook marketing team. We're producing very high quality work for our clients but ran into the problem of signing too many clients very early on that weren't properly vetted. Essentially they asked us to provide additional services randomly throughout the monthly contract and far beyond our scope of work (without any budget increases). I accommodated at the time but have since parted ways with them because it put a serious strain on cash flow and put me in a very tight situation that I am still recovering from.
I increased our prices (far below normal agency rates) in an attempt to filter out the lower quality leads and give a bit of a buffer in cash flow if a situation rises again but have since seen a huge dip in interest. Our current clients were happy to pay the new rates but my lead generating process has literally stopped almost 100%. I went from taking 10-15 consulting calls per week to just one over the last 2 weeks.
I've been pounding pavement on LinkedIn (~50 messages a day through sales navigator) + producing relevant content on LinkedIn & cross posting to Medium. Also cold contacting business owners scraped from Google and Craigslist.. essentially everything I was doing prior (yes, including running Facebook ads) but now the interest is just not there.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm seriously stuck here and we're at a fragile time in the business where we can't afford to slow down client acquisition. Honest and open answers would be appreciated (ego is for sports, business is for profit). Thanks in advance!
edit: After reading a few threads on the front page of the General section, I assume I am going to get some form of flack for my industry. Let me just say that I have been in the industry as a customer for many years and as a business for the last 6 months, I do not sell courses, I do not dropship, and I am not a teenager. I hope this clears up any "Digital Marketing" stigma from the beginning. Haha.
