I thought I'd ask all the guru's on this board to help me understand a few things.
I have a new site that streams flash video and also allows wmv file downloads. The wmv files are 100-150mb and the flv files are 500mb-1gb. I expect 100 concurrent users in month 1 & 2 and up to 400 concurrent users in month 6.
I want a flash player in which you can move the slider bar forward and backwards during a video. My developer tells me I need a flash media server to do this. Can someone confirm this?
Right now it has a normal flash player and my developer tells me I need the following:
Windows 2003 server
Asp.net, framework 2.0
Sql server 2005
So my question is, what type of hosting plan do I get based on this. I am thinking of a dedicated server.
Let's pretend I have 200 customers, downloading 25 videos a month at 150mb a video, 750GB, and then we have another 100 watching a 1gb everyday 3000GB and then we have the other forums, blogs, etc... which probably amount to nothing.
So 4000GB a month? Sound about right?
If I wanted Flash media server, then do I have to purchase the software and install it onto my dedicated server?
