After reading MJ book, I started to think about my goals and what I want in life.
I always wanted to retire early but was so preoccupied with getting a degree and wasting most of my time in school.
I do have a good IT job which pays well with the health benefits and very flexible, I take 2 hour lunch, take off 1 an hour if I need to go for doctor visit. Heck Im always surfing the net and I'm on facebook, most of my friends think I have the dream job.
I finally realized this is the trap MJ was talking about, I can stay this way and work for another 30 years and pray that the Social Security will be around then or take the risk and go out there and see what I can do. I live in Virginia and I'm planning on moving to California since I have my best friends there and they have their own business and living the life.
They have always told me to quit my job and move to CA so that we can start a business venture and now it so happens both of them are working on a new company and have asked me to join them, I have decided to leave the comfy job and go there, if I get out of my comfort zone and become hungry then I think I can do alot more than living the comfortable 9 to 5 job I have now.
Am'I nervous? Hell yeah but thats the excitment to go out and see if I can make it without working for someone else and see if this new business venture will pick up or maybe something else will come out of it.
The only downside is leaving my family here and going there but if I make it then I will come back for them too. My girlfriend has decided to come with me and she is excited too, she never been to California but I'm sure she will love it.
