A few days ago, I was in the unfortunate position of sitting on an airplane for THREE hours right in front of two women who were on their way to an annual conference for a MLM beauty product company.
Note, there was one seat between them (and there was a poor, innocent victim sitting in said seat), so they had to raise their voices to hear each other.
I'm sure you can all imagine all of the crap that I had to listen to them say to each other during that flight. Occasionally, the person in the middle would ask a question, since I think she felt obligated to be in the conversation, since it was happening over her. She asked questions like, "how long have you been in the company", and the most experienced woman answered six years, and then she was asked if she does pretty well, and the answer was that she does pretty well, but that there are some people in her upline that are about to get their cars... lol.. WOW!!! Haha.
The interesting thing was that both of the ladies knew a woman who had been pretty "high up" in the company, but (listen carefully) she did SO WELL that she actually LEFT the company to start her own networking marketing consulting firm. And it's going really well for her.
LOL. I'm sure it is.
Anyhow, it's just like the old story about selling shovels to those who are digging for gold. THAT'S the real opportunity. Whoever that woman was saw a REAL opportunity in selling all of these hopeful MLM golddiggers shovels (i.e. teaching them how to be "successful" in their "business").
Needless to say, I survived the flight... lol. If I had been that middle woman, though, I might've asked to be switched to another seat, or maybe just had a lot of drinks. Who knows.
