Hi everyone,
My name is Paul, I'm 40 and father of 3.
I'm almost done reading the Fast Lane Millionaire (hundred pages to go) and it has been a revelation so far.
I've got a pretty soft journey so far. I went to a business school in France not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. And then, I started my professional life in corporate finance and accounting. I've a CFO role in an french Insurtech company with a decent salary. I've been working for 17 years now.... And I just have the feeling that I miss my life working for others and getting them rich instead of me.
At first, I just thought that this feeling was coming from the crazy life I had living in a city like Paris. Always in a rush, always under pressure for no reason. So 2 years ago, we decided to leave Paris for Marseille with my wife, 3 kids... and no job. The idea was to get closer to our family and have a more relaxed lifestyle (Marseille is on the mediterranean sea and it's very sunny). So I started to do the exact same things but under the sun. But pretty quicly I realised I was still super frustrated by being an employee. So I started looking at investing in local real estate. And for the first time, I felt I was the boss of my own life and actions. Very good feeling!
Now that I've tasted this sweet sensation, I want more. I also realised it would take many years before being able to retire only by investing in real estate. That's how I came to read the Fast Lane Millionaire. It completely blew my mind. So here I am, looking for ideas, mentors, peers to talk to and a strong will to change my life.
