Hi,
First off, I'd like to say.. Unscripted was a great and I really enjoyed it.
I discovered Unscripted before The Fastlane Millionaire(which i am currently busy with) and I reckon its definitely a gateway to clarity and perspective.
It has helped me re-evaluate my position in life and how I look at Money(Value Vouchers).
I had a huge falling out with the owner/director of the Business I had spent 8 years of my Time, building his Durban Branch and helping him get wealthier.
I was promised many things including a 20% profit share as well as an option to buy in for a 40% stake as and when the ability to do so arose. Cut a long story short in December 2016, we had a big fall out and I was accused of stealing among other things, obviously I took exception to this and retaliated as there was a little anger considering I had a fair bit of Profit share owing as well as his nullifying my option to buy in. This event I guess was my FTE... WE parted ways not on good terms and I have since decided to take a crack at industry with my Friend(also Bruce) on our own. I do not entirely count the years spent building that business for my ex Director as a waste as I did learn a fair deal about the industry and have become very proficient in it.
There are no real online stores in south Africa in terms of the industry that I came from.
I have no idea about computers and websites let alone create one.
I chose do do a wordpress based store... I can post the website but I am not sure about the punting of your business on the forum.
It took me a long time and yes, I did rush to get it complete.. But it was one of a kind (up until now that is lol) I learnt heaps about payment gateways etc and SOE (still learning).
I created all the social media accounts and it is starting to take traction...
The issue was I have a family and two kids and NO INCOME, I was a sidewalker (not proud of it)
I think deep down I didn't face it because I always thought my retirement was that I was going to be rich... (but the biggest flaw was I didn't have a financial plan or even a roadmap).
Bruce (still working and not from the industry) helped out heaps and I ran the day to day. AS the days and Months went on (lol about 5 or so) I came to the realization that I couldn't spread myself thin enough on the road and servicing customers and found it very difficult and hindering as a one man band.
I then, whilst visiting customers one day, saw a shop to let and I enquired about it (it wasn't really an option) but then I decided to try work a model for the business to see if it were possible to perhaps start looking for a premises.
We found one at a steal for rent and so the motion began. We open our door next week.
The model of the business that we have constructed is that we are able to open a store with very low overheads.
Once the store breaks even, we will look at opening another store and so the process will go on.
Well thats the theory anyway.
At the time of coming to realization of what we need to do in order to let the Business work for us and more importantly give us an avenue to free up time, we came across Unscripted , and wow did it sing a welcomed melody to our ears.
I am looking forward to meeting new people and perhaps sharing our journey along our Roadmap with everyone. I will let you all know how it goes and what struggles we face and if this can as Value then that will be great.
I have been enjoying Reading these days and once I am done with TFM i think I will move onto Mindset by Carol S. Dwek, I think it was recommended in Unscripted and looking forward to that as I think i am in need to change a few of my very Flawed habits.
Anyway the whole reason of mentioning this, was to see if anyone else has some great books they can recommend (I haven't seen if there is a thread on this yet :/ but it can be any book)
I recently read The Alchemist by Pablo Coelho was great!!!
So in Short:
I am a business owner
I am 36
A father of Two and happily married
and I am ready to add value to the world
