Hello all.
Im the new guy.. fresh out of college living in Lincoln, NE. Graduated from a small state school (went their to play baseball) in May with a BS in Business Admin. Majored in Human Performance and Systems Management. Basically just a long name referring to a management degree with a strong emphasis in computers and technology. (Half course load business, half CMIS).
Accepted a job right after I graduated.. making 35k plus profit sharing, 100% match 401(k), and 6 month bonus. Took the job because I figured salary would grow.. max that 401k and retire old (slowlane!!!). Been here a bit over a month and sine day one I knew this wasnt for me. Wake up at 6, get home at 5:30. My job is not demanding, challenging, or motivating. I have time all day to read, learn, do whatever i want. I basically get paid to sit here and pretend I work. I try to make the most out of it by overachieving.. but the lack of motivation and effort by everyone in office is depleting.
I knew in HS i was destined to be an entrepreneur and make my own path. Iv always had the traits and the desire. For me, i like to work hard and be motivated. The money WILL follow. While money is obviously a driving force, my dream is to not be the normal 9-5 time slave. I WILL get an idea, I WILL pursue it, and I WILL be successful.
At this point, I am staying at my job and working my 45 hours a week.. although its a giant waste of my time and skills..I have all the time at work to better myself. In the month iv been here, I have read 9 books.. everyone has been financial, management, entrepreneur, etc. This consumes me. Everything about the topics consume me. My brain looks for ideas and thinks of ways to end this routine and make a life out of it 24 hours a day. The last book I read was MJ's..and that was the final straw. The book gave me that final kick in the butt that said "Kyle.. this isnt for you.. you are better then this"...Now I just need to find that idea and run with it.
Im excited to learn from all of you, and eventually, hopefully you can learn a thing or two from me. This seems to be a great community and im happy to be apart of it.
-put a website idea i had in the web section... not sure if its really what i should be doing.. or if im just in a hurry and pushing the topic to get started. just havnt found that AHA moment yet. I need to continue to look at my surroundings and look for those catch phrases MJ mentions that will solve a problem for millions.
