I've read The Millionaire Fast lane, and it mentioned this forum, so decided to check it out. TMF has really enforced my ideas, and has opened my mind to new things so I decided to join. I'm glad to see there are many individuals with the same mentality as me,because sadly it feels like I'm alone with all the people around me. It feels like they can't think beyond bosses and TGIFs. I've tried to spread the TMF gospel, but many just don't get it, and think I'm crazy for believing it's possible. Oh well..
About me, I'm about to turn 25, and I've never had a boss other then my clients. At the age of 18, I started repairing computers, and was making a good amount of cash (my opinion at the time for my age) At 19 I managed to pull close to 60K. Business was awesome. My friends were surprised and couldn't believe it, since everybody had just graduated HS a few months ago. Seeing that amount of money reinforced my belief that I did not need college, even though I attempted to try going, it just wasn't for me. In the years that passed I learned more and more, and well now this is where I am. I just don't ever see myself working for anyone. I'm now doing IT consulting as well for a few businesses.
As a kid I've always had a passion for cars and had a very large collection of R/C cars. I would always go to car meets with exotics and wish I would be the one driving those cars. Now I know that for me to able to afford any of those cars, or the lifestyle in general, I'm going to have to change my life , as it will take YEARS for me to achieve any of that. Reading TMF was like a new awakening, telling me to stop wishing and start doing and changing things, as all of these things are well in my reach sooner then I thought possible.
Right now I'm learning Java and C+, to expand my knowledge. I have many ideas for software and apps, I just need to be able to code software and apps. I have completely stopped hanging out with my friends, whom you can always find wasting time in the nightlife. I'm focused on the big picture and getting educated every day.
I look forward to learning from you guys, and me shedding some useful insight.
