Hey guys, my name is Jake and I've just read the book and it lined up with my thought processes, I loved it. Coincidentally, I was talking to my dad a few weeks ago about compound interest and how you can retire with a lot of money if you max out your 401k, etc etc. In looking at the compound interest chart, I thought "what's the point of having all of that money at 65? I want it sooner."
Anyways, I just turned 24 and just graduated college in May. I didn't know what to do with my life, but my aunt got me an interview for an accounting job in Mesa, AZ. I currently live in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. I just had the interview last week and got the job on the spot. I know this would be considered the Slowlane, but I'm not going to be there for very long. I want to stay at least 2 years because I don't want to make my aunt look bad, but I'm going to work on my own thing while I'm working there during my free time, while saving some money to invest into my future business.
So here are the perks:
-Extremely easy work, stress-free
-2-3 hour lunches literally every day(my aunt says this and the boss who interviewed me said it too)
-Smaller breaks throughout the day, basically the faster I get my work done, the more free time I have at work.
-Pays $45,000 so I can start saving some money, luckily I have no student loan debt and no other debt at all.
My question for you guys is if you were in my situation, how would you maximize the time at this job to get started in the Fastlane as soon as possible?
I do not have a business idea yet, but I do know how to build websites decently.
Thanks!
