I do have another progress thread focused on another startup that's still heavily in development and we're growing in paid revenue which has slowed down due to the holidays. This thread is for a new startup i'm going to be starting.
Why two startups?
I've hooked up with an awesome developer who really wants to build a startup and it's rare to find another person with this type of motivation so we're starting something along side my current startup.
I know this might be a bad idea to do too much at once but, my life is literally startups. I go out at most once every 2 weeks and grind through the weekends. I'll figure out how to make it work.
The Idea:
We have a problem we want to solve, the idea is going to start with an MVP and we're going to just keep iterating on it until we find something that works.
We don't have a product idea that we think will be the 'silver bullet' but we think with time and many iterations we'll be able to solve the problem we're aiming at.
Our mindset:
Know that what we're building isn't going to be awesome right off the bat. Focus on building an MVP as quick as possible, then improving it as quick as possible.
How we're growing:
We started a blog on our journey to traction, with our first post being:
Our plan is to grow through transparency and help other marketers learn from our case studies from how we're growing our own blog / product. (blog first)
So far that post is at over 500 hits and we're going to be working on driving traffic to it all week, then posting the results in a case study type format.
What this progress thread is for:
1. To be honest it would be awesome to have some of you guys as subscribers too as we're building a tool for marketers and as entrepreneurs that's your bread and butter.
2. A less formal format to vent / talk about problems we are having / etc - Stuff that just wouldn't fit with the blog.
3. To contribute to the community. The content we're going to be putting out is going to be A+++ and should legitamently help marketers of all types of skill levels.
Random:
I am beyond excited to finally be marketing to a huge market. My current live startup is super niche so the market size isn't that big and it just makes growth a huge pain. Everything i've learned from that startup is already paying off 10x in the new one.
