I can take pics but right now from my window I can see this huge (nice) apartment building. It just went up for sale. I was driving by yesterday and saw the sign. I happened to see the son of the owner. He is maybe my age early to mid 30's. He said his dad was putting the place up for sale. The place is part of the historical society here in Bangor.

Gorgeous place. Has 7 or 8 apt in it and they charge like $850 - $1250 per month depending on the unit. He is selling it for $290K. I thought that was a steel. It appears to be in good shape BUT maybe there is something they found out needs work??

I also bet they aren't maximizing their profits because the son lives in one unit and the mother lives in a totally different unit. My guess is they don't get charged. The place is always packed full. All units are always rented. Same with the place next to it.

It's more of an upscale rental. You aren't going to find scum who can pay that kind of cash each month.

So I know a lot of you guys are into real estate. I can check into this more for anyone if need be. Like I said I haven't seen all of the units inside. From the one's I have they appear to be very nice. I also know that it's part of the historical society (so is my house) and they can be very anal. I am putting up an iron rod fence and of course they are having a fit over height etc etc.

Anyway, if someone is interested I can take pics, dig for info, get contact info, etc. But I am not going to go to all the trouble if not LOL

It's a big white bricked in place in the middle of town. It's right near the court house, sheriff's department, and a huge brick church. I am sure taxes are high though.

If all rented out at avg of $1K you are looking at $8K per month. Mortgage on a $290 with insurance and tax would cut that in half. But still doesn't seem to be a bad deal on the surface. May find there is more to it than that once we start digging.
