Hello Everyone,
I had an application idea that was lingering on my mind for the past few months. It’s a sort-of social/date app that basically connects people together that have a reciprocal attraction towards each other (without knowing it) without the fear of rejection.I don't understand how none of the online dating companies offer a service similar to this at the moment. This might sound overly optimistic but I honestly believe this application has its place amongst the biggest social and online dating companies in the world like Facebook and Instagram.(Could actually even be integrated as a feature in one of those social media companies)because it addresses a real problem everyone has and solves it. Thats how confident I am of this project.
I've been designing this app and all of its functionality on paper and have come up with an interface and layout of how the app would work. I also worked out a subscription business model that is very attractive in my opinion.Basically I have all of this app figured out on paper.
Which brings me to the difficult part of the equation…
My problem is that I know nothing of app developing, coding or programming. I've been browsing the internet and don't think that actually taking a course on programming would be a solution given all the time it would take to just understand the basics of app development. This is not a project that I can create on my own. I assume I would need to approach an application developer. That being said; should it be a partnership with the developer or should I just somehow sell them the concept/idea (which I don't believe they would pay for once they would realize they would be able to do it on their own). Basically, how would one go about presenting his project to an app developer and which steps would he have to take to legally protect his idea from plagiarism? Is partnership with an application developer a possibility? Can the idea be ‘’sellable’’? If yes would that be a better route?
I understand that having a very high barrier of entry is a good thing but this barrier seems way too high for me to climb.
Feeling stuck with a great idea and not knowing how to execute it !
