My names Alex,
A bit about me, I'm 25 years old. I have a high school education. I was a bit of a screw up after high school. Actually I graduated from a continuation school. I come from a middle class family. My mom was and still is a barber and my dad worked on a printing press for the local newspaper. I started working full time after high school and chose to start in the wireless industry (cell phones). I started at T-Mobile, then went to Verizon, and finally Sprint. (I was paid more every time I switched). I was a lost kid... I remember thinking (when I was 18) 'Well I know I need to work so this looks good, I get to stand around, talk to people, and dress nice.' lol I've had a few more jobs along the way, mostly sales, I've lost count of how many I have had...
A few years ago I started to educate myself on business, entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing. This was a huge turning point for me.
Now I'm at the point were I feel I have the tools and skills to succeed. I am taking action and have started a business from scratch thats making a few hundred bucks a month. (Not enough to live on). My initial plan was to work full time at work and part time on my business until the business made enough for me to pursue it full time. I recently left my work for another job that did not pan out (long story).
I'm still a few grand in the hole from previous failed ventures but feel more confident I have the skills and tools needed to succeed. I have almost no money (temporarily). And am working to get this business off the ground. (Almost no overhead, service business, outsource most of the delivered work). Its really a marketing business and I sell a service.
Anyway... I plan to make this business successful since I am churning a small amount of sales and plan to take a grass roots approach to it. I am using every dollar I get to advertise and market this business.
I feel like I have almost no life right now. I broke up with my girl recently and I stopped talking to all my old friends slowly overtime. But I am passionate about entrepreneurship and I feel like sometimes I had to sacrifice those things in order to pursue my aspirations.
Anyway I hope to connect with people in my area and look forward to meeting people who are getting things done.
