Hi everyone, long term reader here. I am a 26 swiss guy who after working a few years as an accountant decided to fly on my own.
I started working on my problem solving skills and I have found a niche in Switzerland in the Office furniture market.
I won't share what it is exactly, but it is basically in the new trend of "health consciousness" or "healthy office culture" that the millennial crave and the market is already booming in the US and slowly coming to Europe. I have the data to show (through some surveys and market research, specialized news, ...) that the market exists and Europe, Switzerland included should follow the same trend than the US.
The market is B2C and B2B, not exactly in the same way though (or we could say that it's B2B but there are so many solopreneur which are gonna think on they own and not through their boss or HR).
My idea would be to start there in Switzerland, as I'd have a headstart, more connections, ... But the market could be whole Europe.
There are a few players in the US, almost none in Europe. Two of theses US players came to Europe but seems really weak right now and non-existant in Switzerland.
They do have good design and products that work, but replicable, it's nothing crazy. I'd need product designer though as I'm unable to do it.
I feel a bit overwhelmed to be on my own and I'm second guessing the directions I wanna follow:
- Should I contact these major players and try to partner to bring them to my country ?
- Should I get in touch with a major office furniture supplier in Switzerland and partner up to import these existing furnitures ?
- Should I contract or partner with a product designer with an existing sourcing and we design on our own (and have ownership)
Any other ideas ?
I am a marketing/sales guy. I see how I could distribute the product online/offline but feel really stuck with the sourcing. Many thank's in advance
