Hi,
I have recently completed a small website development project and I had mixed results with outsourcing. To be more specific I outsourced a large programming component of the project to a developer in the Philippines, and whilst the level of code was ok a number of deadlines where missed with often no or little explanation.
Thus for my next project (if I do outsource again) I am looking to get some tips from those of you that have successfully managed to outsource the development component of your projects. In particular I would be interested to hear the experience from people who have hired developers in India, the Philippines etc.
Some ideas to date are:
- A stricter hiring process e.g. provide the candidate with an online test.
- Online monitoring software, a number of projects on the market take a screenshot of your employees screen every 5 minutes etc.
- Mandatory daily reports, and daily targets.
Also if anybody good shed some light on some cultural considerations that would be great.
Thanks All
