So I have this venture in mind, need 3400 bucks though right? , now so far on my journey, with the exception of my first business which I started on credit cards (terrible idea in case you were wondering) every business i've started has been with 1200 dollars or less with roughly 200-400 dollars a month of my own money to divert into it.
Its one thing to take into consideration say, your skill set or living situation when determining what business avenues to explore but well, trying to bootstrap things with the equivalent of a few car payments? , hasn't worked great.
So since the announcement of the summit i've been trying to fit in lots of overtime (I work 12's which is a blessing a curse in this regard), I got about 100 bucks...and my cat needed 600 dollars in emergency veterinary care. 800 dollars...and the car...had 600 until this morning and...medical bills. Obviously I could put these "emergencies" on credit cards but thats rather counterproductive. Also 5 weeks into some kind of flu / cold as of this writing (still did some overtime shifts, probably shouldn't have)
Well i'm down to 200 bucks, so, glad I did the overtime so I could afford all this garbage but, it feels a lot better working the overtime when your working for your dream, but that makes it twice as painful to part with the money vs spending out of a normal emergency fund.
Back on the saddle though, one silver lining point, they rearranged the hours at my workplace, fired a bunch of people (CONTROL) and I made it out the other end with a 14% raise and a bonus 5% an hour on top of that 2 of my 3 remaining days a week.
So I was working 4 on 4 off 3 on 3 off (14 twelve hour a shifts a month) after taxes as it stands now I only need to work 12 days a month to make the same amount (so a bunch of people are scrambling to make bills and find new jobs and I earned 24 hours of my freedom back per month)
By the time I get the money I'll probably re-evaluate the business idea and hate it, but bygod...i'm getting back to work.
Just thought i'd vent a little, kind of throw an update up. I've never posted in the speedway and it seemed suitable. happy holidays fastlaners!
