Mkay, SO it's time that I started my journal. I think that they are awesome, but in a very non " high school girlish " way of course. They help keep me focused and responsible, at the same time bringing to the table some much needed clarity.
Onwards yo.
I have been looking at old journals that I had when I was successful in other areas in my life to try and see what exactly was the process I took to get to the goal, especially at the beginning so I could replicate it with money since it had already proven what worked for me ( as well as NOT worked ). I finally had some ideas.
First thing was this. I had made a DECISION to be successful. Here is the definition I had wrote in one of my journals.
DECISION:
The removal of choice.
Clarity and firmness of purpose.
Let me take my goal to get ripped for example.... I had made the decision, I would not except anything else but to do the things that would get me to my goal. No matter how hard my friends tried, I would not drink with them at the bar, or eat some garbage before the bar. One of my good friends said I need to " cheat " every once in a while. Eli does not understand this " cheat meal " nonsense. There was no grey area on the way to my goal. I took the " removal of choice " VERY SERIOUSLY. There was nothing that my friends could do to get me to cheat on my diet or not go to the gym even for one day. I mean hell, the gym was closed on thanksgiving so I ran a 5k and ate only turkey on friggin thanksgiving. Who does that? It got so bad that when I was with my friends they knew we better be going somewhere where I can get healthy food or they have some on them in fear of being smitten.
First thing I need to do then is make the " decision ".
Second thing I noticed. When I was dieting and working out I had one rule. JUST SHOW UP. That was how I judged if I was successful or not for the day. I didnt miss a single day in the time that it took me to hit my goal. Not once. Even when I was sick and coughing up a lung I still showed up one day and at least walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes before I thought I was going to die and left. I was successful though cause I showed up when everyone else would have stayed home and watched " Sex In The City " reruns. The interesting thing about this was that if I would just show up regardless if I wanted to or not, I would get there and just effing crush it. Its like " well I'm here, might as well make it worth it. There is a lot of power in something so basic.
Second thing for me to do than is follow the new " 10 minutes a day, everyday " rule. I know it will be a great asset in the way of building up MASSIVE momentum, which in my opinion is a very overlooked principle in the success in any area business. Momentum is king yall!
In conclusion, I will now work on my business for at least 10 minutes a day EVERYDAY.
As far as " making the decision " that has to come naturally or I find it isn't as strong. My other goals it came naturally, it was like one day I was just so sick and tired of not being there that my brain lit up and was like " hey self, THIS IS HAPPENING ". From that day on that is how I went after it. I am looking to make that " genuine decision " as it were, rather than the durrrr this is what I believe I am to do, so erm yeaaaaah.
Annnnnywho, I plan on writing in said journal at least a few times a week.
Eli out....
