I don't know about anyone else, but I can't manage to function without good organization tools and I'm always on the lookout for something new and better. So I thought I would share what works for me and see if anyone else would like to share as well.
[I want to make it clear that I'm not pushing these products. They are things that I've bought and used, and some of them are even free.]
I used paper planners for a long time, particularly the old Franklin Day Planner (now Franklin-Covey, although it's pretty much the same thing with some "7 Habits" stuff tacked on). Now I've got an iPad and I use a PIM called Pocket Informant. For me, it was a fairly smooth transition from paper planning to planning with an app. Personally, I can't function with just a to-do list on a notepad. I need to be able to re-prioritize things, change due dates, turn tasks into appointments, etc. It also syncs its calendar to my Google calendar (that's what I like to use instead of Outlook). I follow the David Allen GTD system, for the most part, but not overzealously so.
I also use Evernote a great deal. Especially since I can use it on work and home computers, as well as on my iPad and Android phone. (And it's free.)
Dropbox is essential as well. Particularly for moving documents from the PC to the iPad. Really makes it easy to take my important reading wherever I go. (And you can get 2GB for free, too.)
Anyone else?
