I hired a guy in Dallas Texas to write a series of press release and get them distributed to a hundreds of places. he was also going to write a new story line for one of my web sites.
It's been 3 months since I hired him and I don't have anything PLUS he won't return calls or emails.
I've known him for 7-8 years. We both attended the internet mastermind meetings in Dallas. I really thought he was a good guy.
My big mistake was
(1) trusting him just because I've known him for a long time
(2) trusting him because he sells a course about how to write press releases in 30 minutes and he's on all the "guru" circuit seminars.
(2) biggest mistake - paid him in advance because he offered a discount for advance payment.
The contract said he's have everything ready in 10 days. AFter 30 days it was apparent he was not going to deliver. But I gave him more time. After 60 days I knew I'd been taken for all my money.
I'm not sure if he's just a crook or if he is totally not capable of writing the press releases. Either way, I got screwed.
Lessons learned ( and I knew this) NEVER EVER pay 100% until you receive what you ordered.
I think people who "don't have" think it is ok to steal from people who "do have" and even justify it in their mind. It's the new American way!
I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK, PLUS ATTORNEY FEES AND COURT COSTS. He'll pay a lot more later by not refunding my money now. In Texas, they will go in to his house and start selling stuff until I'm paid back. Don't mess with Texas.
The good news, I hired a lady in the Philippines to write for me. She is excellent. Works full time, 40 hours a week, for $350 a month. She does press releases, article writing, facebook, twitter, SEO, and more.
