I'm just wrapping up my NLP Master Practitioner training, and one of the main tenets of the quantum physics section is Perception is Projection.
The main summary is that the world on the outside of you is nothing more than a projection from your unconscious mind. And this makes a lot of sense, because, whenever I'm helping a client through a problem of theirs, I begin to notice that the words I say to help them are actually something that helps me through something in my life.
The rest of the people in the training noticed the same thing.
For example, whenever I get to the next chapter of my book, a new person appears in my life who needs help through a specific problem. The things I do to help them translated into a chapter for my book. After that, they begin to fade out of my life and the next person appears with the same problems that are helping me with the next chapter.
This type of thing happens on a regular basis throughout all areas of your life. Do you ever notice how people seem to appear in your life for a reason?
So according to the quantum physics they explained, the world is a projection of your unconscious mind, and things don't happen to you. Instead, the things that happen on the outside are a projection of something that originated on the inside.
And this got me to thinking about some of the best, life-altering changes I've made in my life.
Perception is Projection
Do your friends and family try to hold you back, or do events unfold that try to reinforce the type of life you feel stuck in?
Earlier on in my journey, I used to resist that, and try to logically convince them that the type of life I want to live is possible, and the more I argued, the more it kept me in that version of reality that I felt stuck in.
According to the quantum physics and the training at my master prac., the people in your life that might seem to be holding you back are nothing more than a projection from your unconscious mind. Clearly there is an abundance of people in your life that are out there to support you, but you choose to focus on the areas of your life where others resist.
This is nothing more than a projection from you. Some call this personal accountability, and the way it was framed up in my training comes in a more literal sense (they appear in your universe because of something going on inside of your unconscious).
The people and events around you won't change until you change.
The Final Test
Do you want to be able to predict when you're about to reach that next level?
The secret to reaching that next level is to notice when everything in your life is going wrong. Do you know those times in your life where everything seems to be going against you?
I understand this best from a quantum physics explanation, but in the end it comes down to personal responsibility to be the change in your life that you've been waiting for.
The quantum physics way of looking at this (as if you are literally projecting your reality), is that you're feeling stuck in one version of "reality" right now, and just before you're about to make that change - the universe gives you one final test trying to hold you back.
And this test that you're facing to see how bad you want it appears as if it's an obstacle.
Change is scary and your unconscious projects events to happen in your life because you're scared to make that change now.
For me in business, the moment I made the decision to quit my day job and focus on my business full time, the boss offers me a six figure promotion the following day. This was one final test to see if I really wanted that change.
The other final test was when my family said I was crazy for wanting to quit the security of a job and began listing all the reasons why I shouldn't. Listening to them almost convinced me not to do it.
A recent example with health. I'm visiting my family until the end of the year until I travel the world starting in January. I want to get in better shape, but when I showed up there was a bag of cheetos sitting on the counter.
"Just this one last time." I told myself.
I'm ready to make the change. The next day my family came in with about 5 bags of chips and about $200 worth of food and snacks they get for the holiday season.
That's my final test.
Taking that leap and changing your outside world.
The solution?
You have to change on the inside first. And on the inside, I mean change your behaviors and choices.
All those things you don't want in your life on the outside will never go away unless you become the change you want to see in your life first.
When I was offered the promotion and I told my boss I would quit and focus on my business full time, she was excited (a little too excited to see me go haha). A few months later, my family said that I should buy real estate in Hawaii (their favorite dream spot) when my business grows.
The common theme?
Nothing in my "outside world" changed until I changed on the inside (my behaviors and actions) FIRST. It's only after you make that leap and cross that point of no going back...when everything else changes.
You are in control of your life.
Take that leap into the new you, it's the only way.
