I'll admit it, have I actually accomplished anything in the time that I've joined this forum? No. Have I learned anything? Without a doubt.
It's now time for me to make that crucial step forward, and to take full accountability for the outcome of my life, and where I am currently.
A lot of people my age (and on this forum as well), like to talk a big game, and yet have nothing to show for it.
Sure we have plenty of ideas, but without execution, these ideas lay dormant forever.
I used to be so incredibly naive. Why is it that not everyone, in fact the vast majority of people, are not successful? (financially, happiness, or other otherwise).
Because the road to success is HARD. It's filled with pot holes, and detours, and roadbumps that sometimes seem insurmountable. Most people have grandiose dreams, but somewhere a long the way they quit. They lose their drive. They let their past failures dictate their future outcomes. They settle for the status quo.
Success is reserved for those who persevere when things get tough. Excuses hold us back.
If something can go wrong, shit will go wrong. But you just need to recalibrate a little bit and keep going.
I realize what my problem was. My goals were entirely materialistic and had no direction.
How will you get to where you want to be, when you don't even know where you want to go? How will you know how to get there? You won't.
Here are my new goals, which I've condensed to 20. Some of these can be completed within the week (and they will be), and some of them will take longer. I will be attaching deadlines to them by the end of this week.
-Become a Professional Poker Player through university (I have no desire to play after age 25)
-Become a Professional Fighter (Boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA)
-Become a Motivational Speaker
-Learn to Play the Acoustic Guitar
-Become Fluent in Spanish
-Become a Big Brother (Big Brothers, Big Sisters Foundation)
-Adopt a Child
-Write a Non-fiction bestseller
-Write a Fiction bestseller
-Adopt an animal from a shelter
-Be in the top income bracket (personal income) by Age 21. (In Canada = $126,264/year)
-Have a total networth of $100M US by age 40.
-Get an AMEX Black Card
-Find a Girlfriend
-Get my Learner’s License
-Get a Library Card
-Find a Job
-Buy a Car (used car $5000)
-Buy a Kawasaki Ninja 250-R
-Complete my University Prerequisites
Push myself to live outside of my comfort zone.
Never stop meeting new people. (I’m shy. That part of me dies right now.)
Smile Often.
Throw Excuses out the door.
Always learning, always growing.
Never give up.
Most important of all... Accomplish something to be able to brag about at next year’s B&P hahahahah 😀
Note: Future posts will be about what I've DONE, and not what I plan to do. Words are nothing. Anyone can talk a big game. It's all about the execution baby! :smxB:
I'd wish everyone good luck in their pursuits... but luck has little to do with it 😀
