Looking for a ideas / recommendations on how to find out a couple things related to tracking down owners in pre-foreclosure:


1) Can anyone recommend a (cheap) service to find out who owns a specific number (especially for cell phones)?

For example, I do a lot of marketing to a list of specific prospects in pre-foreclosure (I already have their names and addys), but if I happen to miss a call on my cell phone from one of these prospects, it leaves me the phone number that called, but not the name of the person, like land line caller ID does.

So, rather than calling the number back and saying something like "Hi, I received a call from this number earlier..." and the person on the other end (who is actually a prospect calling me from my marketing efforts) saying "Oh, I must have dialed the wrong number" (and therefore it leading to a dead end with that prospect), I'd prefer to be able to know who it was that called, call the number back and say "Hi, is this Joe Smith? I seen you tried to get in touch with me earlier, you were probably calling about the letter I sent you, is there anything I can help you with..." (thereby turning that missed call into a warm lead).


2) Can anyone recommend a (cheap) service to locate a homeowner after they have vacated a house and not left a forwarding address with the post office (aka skip-tracing)?

My first mailer to a pre-foreclosure prospect is always a letter with "Address Service Requested" on the envelope, but sometimes I get these returned to me with no forwarding address on file with the post office. So, I'm looking for a way to track down these folks when this method has failed. I've heard of skip tracing services, but haven't used one yet. Any recommendations?
