I have developed a lead-page with the aim to get people to sign up on my list, just to get preliminary product validation / how many people would be actually interested in the product.

My first thought was leaving it just like this - stating, that they will receive a follow-up email shortly, informing them about the product and give them the option to buy.
I would be able to assess the interest by how many people signed up.

This is a good example.

It wouldn't be an accurate representation however, as people get scared away if they ACTUALLY have to pay for something. So I'd be lucky if perhaps 60% of the email list made the purchase later on.

Second option would be to state the product price directly on the lead page, and giving them a 'special offer discount' - let's say 80% off. Immediately after subscription, they would get a follow up email with a link to make the purchase.
Although I haven't seen this too often in practice, where the full price of the product would be stated on the pre-sale page. It scares people off - especially if they are not fully informed about the benefits and value they can get from the product (which I plan to do continuously via emails, fb posts, IG pics, eventually blog posts etc.)

I see the 2nd option to be much more objective, but also more challenging (and time consuming) for the initial stage - as I haven't thought about the pricing model yet and I would need to develop a payment gateway / page. It would also give me a small starting budget to order samples of the product and whatnot, without having to make an investment myself.
