So here it goes, my fast lane plan. First of all I'm 17 and this is my first business I have started. Tell me everything and anything that crosses your mind when reading this! I have started selling laundry detergent under my own brand (PRIMO Detergents). I have gotten in contact with a supplier that has clones of Tide, Gain, as well as several fabric softeners. I ordered a pallet with the combination of the three and begun selling at the local flea market. I am purchasing and reselling them in 5 gallon buckets. I have created my own labels to go on them and purchased banners to help attract business out at the market. Last week was my first week out and I made close to $1000 in sells. I was ecstatic, but sadly this week when I went I didn't sell a single one :nonod:. This was very disappointing and odd, but I'm determined not to let this deter me. As far as marketing goes, I am looking at creating a fundrasing program using my product. I would split the profits with the organization and have it delivered with a form for the consumer to order more if they liked it. Those next orders, all the profit would come straight to me. I am simply working with this residential detergent to get cash flow and move onto bigger and better things. I hope to expand the detergent to selling commercial detergent to hotels/nursing homes/hospital etc. There is actually a company here that does the laundry for all hospitals in my state and that would be MAJOR if I could have them start using my detergent. The problem with commercial is most of these places have contracts with a company called EcoLab. The good thing is they pay $140 for 5 gallons of EcoLab detergent and I could offer it for half of that and still double my money. Critique my plan and I'm open to hearing all advice!
