Hi there,
I'm a product design student, that was always interested in entrepreneurship and self development.
After re-reading MJ's books, the way led here, also because it is time to progress the Fastlane journey much more seriously now.
I hope to be able to contribute to everyone's journey, with my expertise in product development/ design and UX (user experience design), so if there are any questions, hit me up
I'm currently on a exchange semester in Asia and want to start seriously making progress on the fastlane journey now,
because in the last years i might have concentrated to much on the craft itself and forgot about the purpose behind it.
What i'm currently up to:
1. Creating a strong set of specialized skills and finish my degree.
-I love the profession and believe that working in it could provide the resources to work on, and inspire the Fastlane venture, but obviosly don't want to be trapped in the "9-5" at an agency forever.
-I've learned multible skills that can be turned into a specialized skill to be sold.
-I'm still trying to figure out a great way to turn the great value of design it into a specialized unit, because usually it only works highly personalized.
2. Supplement a income of 800€ a month by about 1,5 years in time.
-I'm very grateful that my parents supported me financially during my studies. In 1,5 years, this what wont be possible anymore,
so additionally to the foundational job i do right now, i have to figure out a way to make up for it.
-Possibly through foundational labor or a specialized skill but with the time frame in mind, there is opportunity to create something.
3. Creating a social media presence in the design world. (mainly youtube).
-Create leverage for the time in the industry, hopefully allowing many opportunities, more room for flexibility etc
-Serve my community. i would love to give back to the community that i love to serve and discover their pains, to solve with a CENTS business
-Platform to launch businesses in the design/designer market of of.
4.Design for royalties.
-I have expertise in a special area of design and stand in contact with several big companies in that sector, that want me to create designs for them and get royalties on units produced/sold.
-I know that this violates CENTS and is not even a real business, but it could be a great opportunity and from the time to possible returns, seems to make sense to me right now (also with point 2 in mind)
-I was always thinking about creating a Business in this area and think that doing this work, will give expertise for that.
Struggles:
-Like you might have noticed i seems to not have as big of a vision as many on this forum, in terms of timeframe for example. Maybe it is realism, or trying to bee too comfortable, feedback on that is much appreciated.
- I'm not the "Gary Vee natural entrepreneur" I'm more artistic in nature and while also always dabbelign in businesses and ways to make money, much more often created other things, products, art. By now, I'm sure that this is just how it is for many people and that one day i might just have to partner up with someone to fit that role,or grow into it. But it always was a point of resistance to get into this
So, that is me, glad to be meeting all of you
and let's get on the Fastlane together!
