Note: I am moving this thread from the private forums to the Ebiz forum. I am not trying to promote my website. I did discuss this with MJ before moving it. The purpose of me moving it was to show others how a website business may be built and also to show the interaction and knowledge of the very talented people on this forum. I appreciate all the input I have gotten so far and others are welcome to add their input as well.
If you feel slighted for not being able to access the private forum then you need to do what it takes to gain more rep speed. Help others, that's the key.
Well my website is up and running. This is a local board and we have local events listed. I spent a couple of hours today listing all the HS football games. Tomorrow I'm going to work on other events. We are also beginning marketing it locally. I'm plan to market it in distinct steps to see what works. When you roll out advertising(i.e., mail out postcards) how soon do you expect that you will see a bump or not?

We are still going to put a weather deal on it for local weather conditions and hot link the addresses to a map service. We will also begin selling advertising in about a month, after we can quantify our visitors.
