Hey guys, its been a few weeks since I’ve provided any update on our startup Vuier.com, however all the feedback from the forum has been terrific thus far.
So, the past few weeks we were working on a re-design of our home page, which just went live this past Friday. Things we’ve accomplished were removing the statistics link as they are not very compelling at this stage of the game, however we may bring them back once the numbers are attractive enough. We’ve also added thumbnails of featured videos as well as the most recently uploaded videos to the home page. We’ve re-arranged our Profit Estimator to not be as prominent on the home page but rather a link for content producers to play around with and obsess with the potential profits their video can return.
There’s been many other smaller type fixes that we’ve done as well. However, we still need to integrate our “free†account so we can display free videos and not have the payment gateway appear and also so that one doesn’t have to sign up just to watch a demo video. This should be completed within the next few days.
Another major feature that will be integrated within the next 2 weeks is a mobile payment option, which will eliminate the need to whip out your credit card to pay to view a video and/or fund your account. Instead you can simply enter your cell phone number, immediately receive a text msg from us with a 4-digit pin, you enter that pin back on the screen, and continue to view your video, and in turn your cell phone carrier will charge this on your next bill. This should help with conversion rates and be less of a barrier for many people.
We’re still adding content and seeking premium content worthy of paid views. We know we still have a long way to go, however our shiny new coin has allowed us to get our foot in the doors of many prominent production companies that find Vuier interesting enough to seriously consider integrating into their business models. Who knows, even one viral hit could make someone out there a lot of money and simultaneously put us on the map.
