Hey everyone, glad to be on the forums! I joined a little earlier this year and although I've only posted a little bit I've been absorbing as much of the information and advice here as possible. I read TMF right after reading Think and Grow Rich, and the enlightenment in both books has made me want more for myself.
I'm from the extremely crowded city of Long Beach, so crowded that it's hell getting a job of any sort (over 1500 people in the city apply anytime a new fast food joint opens up). Most of the work I've found was in places just barely out of the city, close enough to commute to, but I never got a permanent position. Knowing my time was limited I planned to save 1000 dollars and begin my fastlane journey. Once that was done I decided to flip smartphones since I already know all the signs of a good and bad deal with the current hot phones, and I've acquired a little over 2k worth of inventory by haggling on craigslist, yard sales, and locals. My plan is to make it to 10-15k "street hustling" these phones and flipping them online then start a business buying, selling, and repairing smartphones. The only money I have is my inventory (roughly 2000 resale value worth of smartphones), and money I make repairing computers in my free time which is at zero at the time of this post.
As I progress I will update this thread, and I won't stop until my business is up and running. I want to become more active on this forum because TMF and fastlane thinking has changed the way I look at life and now being around slowlane and sidewalk thinkers is just.....blegh. If anyone wants to contribute flipping experience I would be EXTREMELY grateful, I'm learning as I go and although I know a fair bit I haven't broken out of the slowlane yet. I'm having some issues with ebay at the moment, I assume it's always hard for new sellers to sell their first items? People win the auctions but then don't pay or respond to emails afterwards....annoying.
